Johns Hopkins University (JHU) is inviting all full-time employees to participate in its Mental Health Challenge, which runs until May 30. This initiative aims to promote mental well-being by encouraging employees to learn new skills and develop healthy habits.
The challenge is sponsored by the JHU Well-Being Program in collaboration with Burnalong, a virtual wellness platform offering thousands of live and on-demand classes across more than 60 categories. These classes include dog workouts, fitness for those over 50, office workouts, self-defense, tai chi, healthy eating, and more.
To participate, employees need to log in or create a free Burnalong account. After logging in, they should scroll down to the ‘Invites’ section on the homepage and click ‘Accept’ to join the challenge. Participants must complete at least two classes each week throughout May to qualify for weekly prize drawings from Burnalong.
Additionally, employees can invite friends and family to join by adding up to four free subaccounts, allowing them to engage in wellness activities together. JHU has curated several playlists to help participants get started, including ‘Mind Your Health,’ ‘Mental Health Month,’ ‘Self-Care Game Plan,’ and ‘Declutter Your Life.’
For any questions about the challenge, employees can reach out via email to wellnessprograms@jhu.edu. This initiative not only fosters individual well-being but also builds a supportive community focused on mental health.
