Lexington announces Mental Health Month events for May 2025

Lexington is set to host a series of events in May 2025 to promote mental health awareness and community support. The schedule features various activities designed to engage residents and provide resources for better mental health.

The month kicks off with a **Wellness Celebration** on May 1 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM, featuring interactive sessions aimed at fostering community connections and discussing wellness strategies.

On May 7, participants can join a **Goat Yoga** session from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM. This unique form of yoga which incorporates animals is known to reduce stress and promote relaxation.

**QPR Suicide Prevention Training** will be offered on May 8 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM. This training teaches participants how to recognize warning signs of suicide and how to respond effectively, providing crucial skills for community members.

Veterans are invited to a **Coffee Social** on May 22 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. This event aims to create a supportive environment for veterans to share experiences and build connections with one another.

Additionally, on May 28, a workshop titled **How to be a Better Ally** will take place at 5:30 PM, focusing on how individuals can support friends and family members struggling with mental health issues.

Throughout the month, residents are encouraged to participate in **Bike, Walk & Bus Month**, promoting physical activity as a means to improve mental health.
