Family Place Utah offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training

The Family Place Utah is hosting Youth Mental Health First Aid workshops designed to equip participants with the skills to assist young people experiencing mental health crises. These classes are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20th and 21st, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Participants have the option to attend either in person or virtually via Zoom.

The training program covers essential topics such as recognizing signs of mental health issues, understanding the impact of mental health on youth, and learning effective intervention strategies. By the end of the workshop, attendees will be prepared to respond to youth in crisis and will have a better grasp of how to provide immediate support.

This initiative aims to promote awareness and understanding of youth mental health challenges, which are increasingly prevalent. According to recent studies, 1 in 5 youth experiences a mental health condition, making such training vital for educators, parents, and community members.

Classes are free of charge, and registration is encouraged to ensure a spot.
