The third annual ‘Nourish Your Noodle’ fundraiser, organized by Mental Health America of Lancaster County, took place at Southern Market Center, drawing a sold-out crowd. The event featured over 20 vendors offering a variety of global dishes, alongside silent and live auctions.
This year’s fundraiser successfully raised more than $127,000, exceeding last year’s total of $118,000. The funds directly support free and accessible mental health services for over 12,000 residents of Lancaster County.
Doreen Snyder, an event speaker, emphasized the importance of open dialogue about mental health. ‘There is no discrimination, and it can happen to anybody. It’s a brain disease. I don’t want people to stay silent. Talking to a friend or a professional is so important,’ she stated.
The event aims to increase awareness of mental health issues and challenge the stigma associated with them. By engaging the community through food and activities, organizers hope to foster a supportive environment where individuals feel comfortable discussing their mental health.
