Eric Dinowitz allocates $50K to Mosaic Mental Health services

On April 6, 2025, New York City Council Member Eric Dinowitz presented a $50,000 check to Mosaic Mental Health, aimed at enhancing their crisis intervention and mental health support services across the Bronx. The event took place at Van Cortlandt Park in Riverdale, coinciding with Mosaic’s 16th Annual 5K event.

The funds will specifically bolster trauma-informed care programs, particularly for survivors of domestic violence, while also increasing access to mental health resources within Dinowitz’s district and across the Bronx. This financial support reinforces Dinowitz’s ongoing efforts to promote mental health equity through legislative and budget initiatives.

Dinowitz stated, “I’m proud to secure this $50,000 investment in Mosaic Mental Health to expand their crisis intervention and domestic violence support services. Mosaic shows up every day for people in crisis and provides care with dignity and professionalism. I will continue advocating for the resources Mosaic needs to expand its reach to more individuals in need within the district.”

Assemblymember Jeffrey Dinowitz, the council member’s father and a long-time advocate for healthcare access in the Bronx, supported the funding initiative. He emphasized Mosaic Mental Health’s essential role in the community, stating, “Mosaic Mental Health is a cornerstone in our community for those seeking help, support, and healing. I’m proud to stand with Council Member Eric Dinowitz in supporting this incredible organization that continues to meet the evolving needs of our neighbors with care and dedication.”

Mosaic Mental Health is recognized for its commitment to providing accessible and compassionate mental health care to Bronx residents. During the check presentation, Dr. Donna Demetri Friedman, Executive Director of Mosaic, highlighted the growing demand for their services and expressed gratitude for the funding. She remarked, “This funding allows us to expand our crisis intervention and domestic violence programs—services that are more essential than ever as we see a growing need for accessible, community-based mental health care in the Bronx.”

The allocation of these funds marks a significant step toward improving mental health services during a time when the need for effective crisis intervention strategies is increasingly critical. By supporting organizations like Mosaic Mental Health, policymakers aim to create a more supportive environment for individuals facing mental health challenges in the Bronx.
