Perennial запускает инициативы по охране психического здоровья работников садоводства

Perennial, the only charity in the UK focused on the mental wellbeing of the horticultural community, has introduced new initiatives aimed at improving mental health in the workplace. This initiative follows a recent report indicating that nearly 83% of individuals in the horticulture sector reported low or average wellbeing.

The horticulture industry faces distinct challenges, including financial pressures, job uncertainty, and other stressors that affect mental health. Employees across various roles—such as florists, garden center staff, nursery workers, greenkeepers, and landscapers—are grappling with mental health issues that impact their daily lives.

To foster open conversations about mental health in the workplace, Perennial is offering free resources for both employees and employers. Key components of this initiative include a series of free mental wellbeing webinars conducted in collaboration with Mental Health First Aid England. These webinars, scheduled from May to November 2025, aim to equip managers, HR professionals, and staff with the necessary skills to facilitate discussions about mental health in their organizations.

In addition to the webinars, Perennial has developed a downloadable Mental Wellbeing Resource Pack and provides access to its Mental Health First Aid Ambassador Network. This network hosts quarterly virtual meetings specifically designed for trained Mental Health First Aiders in the horticulture field.

Clare Downs, Head of Preventative Services at Perennial, highlighted the importance of these initiatives by stating that while the horticulture industry is rewarding, it also presents challenges that require mutual support to maintain positive mental health.

Perennial continues its 185-year mission to improve the lives of individuals dedicated to horticulture. Those interested in accessing these resources or registering for the free webinars can visit perennial.org.uk/workplace-wellbeing.
